How To Implement This Healthy Living Plan For The New Year
The most important thing to remember is that food is fuel. When you start to think of things with this perspective, then it becomes easier for you to make the right choices. Think about food in terms of what it can do for you. When you are deciding what to have for a meal, think about what you really need. Do you need more energy or are you trying to manage your weight? Are you trying to reduce inflammation in your body? Do you need to reduce stress, lift your mood, or reduce anxiety?
Whatever you need, there are food, herbs, and supplements to support that need.
Food is medicine, and if you treat it that way, you can truly heal yourself.
Don’t put the food you just grabbed into your mouth until you can say with certainty, exactly how it is benefiting your needs.
Stick with me and I will tell you what foods are for what conditions. I will teach you which foods to grab for each of your goals.
For example, if one of your top goals for this year is to reduce your stress and anxiety, I can show you 5 Everyday Foods To Help Lessen Anxiety…
And then if you are really ready to set yourself up with the best tools for success, keep on scrolling for some great recipes that will make use of our food is medicine plan.
So, What Are Your Goals?
Whether you want to be able to lift more weight, run farther, gain flexibility, strengthen your core, or become more proficient in your favorite sport, food is the key to your success.
Your fitness goals are directly tied to your diet successes. If you stay with the “food is fuel” or “food is medicine” way of thinking, and you only feed yourself what your body actually needs, you will improve your health and you will look and feel younger.
I suggest that you choose one or two of the goals below to start with. Then, continue to scroll down and read my list of top foods for fuel that you should be eating but probably aren’t.. Each food/herb item includes a description of which goals are helped when you add this to your diet. Pick a few items from this list that will help you reach your specific goals and add them to a healthy diet and exercise routine.
Boosted energy levels
Higher immune system
Less stress and anxiety

Collagen is my number one longevity food recommendation. It comes in the form of a powder and you can add it to anything. This is one of the things I tell most of my clients to take every single day.

Lemons are good for your stomach, they help detoxify your body, they balance your pH and they act as an antibacterial agent. If you have a sore throat or a cough, go for lemons to make things better. Cherries are one of the best foods to combat many types of arthritis and joint pain. In Chinese medicine, we use cherries to help maintain the body’s “essence” or life-force.
Keep a bottle of organic black cherry juice in the fridge and drink an ounce or two before bedtime to promote deeper sleep. And if it’s cherry season, when you are looking for a sweet snack, grab a handful of these beauties.
