My name is Stacey Isaacs. I am the writer and creator of Kitchen Of Youth. I have had many careers. I’ve been a chef, a lawyer, and a writer/editor. I also have a Masters degree in Oriental Medicine/Herbs and a license in Acupuncture. Some people find this diversity interesting. Others just think I have the attention-span of a gnat.
I’ve found my passion and that is: Wellness. I love to cook delicious, chef-quality food that’s good for you and easy to prepare. As a chef, I insist on using only top-quality ingredients. By top-quality, I don’t necessarily mean expensive; I mean fresh, environmentally-friendly, great tasting herbs, spices, meats, vegetables, etc. As an eastern medicine practitioner, I look at foods with an eye toward their healing properties and I combine the correct foods with the correct food herbs and Chinese herbs to create a unique system to heal you.
Is This for You?
Every person is wonderfully, uniquely different – on the inside and out. No two people need the same foods and herbs to be at their best. So, whether you are looking to have more energy, boost your immune system, manage your weight, elevate your mood, reduce your inflammation, fix your digestion, look younger, increase your athletic performance, manage your stress, or heal a serious health condition, I will look at you as YOU, not as anyone else… you are awesome and a unique food and herbs plan can heal you.
When I was done being a lawyer (yes, I got burned out), I fulfilled a long-time fantasy and went to cooking school. This was awesome! I was lucky enough, upon graduation, to work at Food Network as a cook and food stylist. I worked with Rachel Ray, Guy Fieri, Emeril Lagasse, Bobby Flay, Tyler Florence, Mario Batalli, Cat Cora and others. This was my dream come true. But, deep in my soul, I still had the calling to be a healer.
I began cooking foods for people who had specific dietary needs. I was a personal-chef-of-sorts to people with cancer, gluten intolerance, Parkinson’s, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, arthritis and many more conditions. I also advised, menu-planned and cooked for people who wanted to lose weight and look and feel youthful and healthy. I became expert at healing through foods.
What You Can Expect
I am the least judgmental person on the planet, and I truly love meeting new people and celebrating all the differences between us. I concentrate my efforts on preparing chef-quality dishes that are easy for non-chefs to prepare. I know which kitchen herbs and spices are good for whatever ails you. As an acupuncturist and herbal practitioner, I know which eastern herbs to add to the mix of the Western ones thereby creating the perfect healing balance. I especially love to take simple, classic, popular recipes and give them a unique twist (albeit sometimes a little strange sounding, but always delicious). I combine my passion for cooking with my knowledge for whole-body-wellness by using foods, exercise, meditation, qi gong, herbs and acupuncture to heal the body, mind and spirit. I’m happy to share anything I know and all that I am still learning with anyone who is interested.
Above all, remember “it’s not rocket science; it’s only food.” I look forward to helping you.
