Healing Benefits Of Shilajit

Everyone should know about the healing benefits of shilajit. Read on to learn why you probably need to add this amazing substance to your diet.

healing benefits of shilajit

I first learned about the healing benefits of shilajit many years ago. Always being one who is excited to try out a new wellness product, I bought some. I tried it. And then, I never used it again. I am very rarely put off by the taste of foods, herbs, or supplements. I can eat anything. Except papaya. I cannot eat papaya. But that’s a whole other story…

Until shilajit. When I tried it years ago, I could not get past the taste. Nobody was more surprised than I was. So I tried to mask the taste by putting tiny amounts of this healing wonder into my smoothies, but that didn’t work either because I felt it ruined the taste of my smoothies.  So, I just let the idea of using shilajit go… I figured I’d just have to do without it.

Not any more! And I’m so happy! The healing benefits are so amazing and because I knew that these benefits should far outweigh any negative flavor effects, I did more research.  I researched and I researched, and I found a company I trusted. And then I tried it again.

Now I know how to do it right… and I want to share everything I’ve learned with you because the magic of shilajit can help so many people.

Shilajit is a substance that comes from inside crevices of the Himalayan Mountains and Tibet. It is a black/brown substance that is tar-like.

Keep reading to learn about the healing benefits of shilajit and also the best way I’ve found to use it!

What Are The Healing Benefits Of Shilajit?

1. Longevity/Anti-Aging Function

Shilajit is a fantastic source of fulvic acid. Fulvic acid helps your cell walls absorb minerals. Absorbing minerals helps slow down the aging process. One of the ways it does this is by reducing the inflammation that causes aging in the body.

2. Provides Energy

Boosting energy is a great benefit you get from shilajit. The mitochondria (the powerhouse of your cells) is strengthened by shilajit and your cells are given more oxygen. This gives you more energy and stamina. This may be the reason why shilajit is being used to help some people with chronic fatigue syndrome.

3. Boosts Immune System

Regulating your immune system and preventing viruses are a few of the things shilajit is good at.

4.  Strengthens Bones

One of the conditions that shilajit has been good for is osteoporosis and bone regeneration.

5. Boosts Brain Health

Studies have shown that shilajit has a neuro-protective ability. It’s been proven to help in cases of brain trauma and has also helped in preventing and/or slowing the progression of some types of Alzheimer’s.

6. Balances Hormones

This amazing substance has been shown to have a great balancing effect on hormones, especially in the fertility of both men and women.

7. Protects Against Cancer

Shilajit has been shown to fight certain types of cancer cells. It turns out to be toxic to these cells, so that the cells, when fed shilajit, die off.

Shilajit Cautions

It’s very important to buy your shilajit from a reputable company. This is one of those cases where you want to make sure you are getting a top quality product that really is what it says it it. My personal choice for shilajit is Pure Himalayan Shilajit. This company makes the product in liquid, resin, and solid form. Read about them, and then choose what works best for you.

Also, if you are at a danger of having high levels of heavy metals in your system, it may be best not to add shilajit to your diet.

My Favorite Way To Use Shilajit

Here’s the thing. This stuff is not tasty. And if you try to hide it in food or in one of your favorite drinks or smoothies, you may not be happy with the taste of your usually tasty drink.

Here’s what I do, and I highly recommend you do the same or similar.

I put a tiny bit of shilajit (and the shilajit comes with a tiny little spoon so you get the correct tiny little amount that you need) into a glass of potent, acidic or spicy juice.

Today, I juiced some fresh oranges along with a good amount of fresh ginger, and then I stirred in my shilajit. Perfection.

You can also make a spicy drink — like some of those detox or cleanse drinks — and use lemon, ginger, and cayenne. This would be the perfect foil for the shilajit.

Get the picture? Strong acidic and spicy tastes work the best… well, at least in my opinion…

I also using shilajit with other herbs or healthy veggies, this way it helps absorb the enzymes and vitamins.. so I believe when you eat an orange with it doubles the nutrients!

Honestly, I don’t really have the answer — there’s not a lot of research available for taking it consistently for long periods of time…
